What is kinesiology?
Kinesiology is an non-invasive complementary therapy that uses gentle muscle testing to identify imbalances within the body.
It offers a simple yet powerful way of listening to what the body is trying to say.
The body is highly intelligent and constantly provides feedback about physical, emotional, nutritional and energetic stressors.
Through gentle muscle testing kinesiology helps gain an insight into these areas that may be out of balance. Kinesiology helps identify what the body needs to restore balance, health and wellness.
How does kinesiology work?
The body stores information such as stress, emotions and nutritional needs - much of which may not be consciously recognised.
Through gentle muscle testing, kinesiology accesses this information to identify areas of imbalance, supporting the body's natural ability to return to balance.
Treatment plan
Kinesiology works best as a process rather than a one-off session. The aim is to create a treatment plan that unfolds over a number of sessions, allowing the body to be supported gently and effectively over time.
Each session lasts approximately one hour. Kinesiology can be likened to peeling the layers of an onion. In each session the body presents what it sees as the most important or priority issue to address at that time. While this may not always be what you consciously feel is the main concern, the body guides the process based on what needs support first.
As each layer is gently addressed, space is created to explore deeper or underlying imbalances. With each session, new priority areas may emerge as the body continues to rebalance and adapt.
How many sessions?
The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on individual needs, goals and engagement with any suggested support or self-care between sessions.
As a general guideline, an initial course of three to six sessions is often recommended. Many clients also find it beneficial to have maintenance kinesiology sessions two to three times a year to support ongoing balance and wellbeing.
